This is the intermediate level certification course for divers wishing to utilize a closed-circuit rebreather (CCR) for mixed gas diving. The objective of the course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for mixed gas diving on the unit specific CCR, utilizing a mixed gas diluent containing 16 percent or greater oxygen, and to develop intermediate CCR diving skills appropriate to technical diving to a maximum depth of 60 metres.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Course Prerequisites<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

  1. Minimum age 18<\/span><\/li>
  2. Provide a verified log of a minimum of 50 rebreather hours distributed over a minimum of 50 dives, with at least 25 dives and 25 hours on the specific rebreather unit and at least 10 rebreather dives to 30 metres or deeper requiring staged decompression. If completing a unit crossover, provide proof of at least 10 logged CCR dives in the last 12 months<\/span><\/li>
  3. Certified as a TDI Air Diluent Decompression Procedures Rebreather\/ TDI CCR Helitrox Diluent Decompression Procedures Diver course or equivalent from agencies recognized by TDI<\/span><\/li><\/ol>

    \u2013 Managing stage bottles, switching gases, and ensuring safe bailout in emergencies.<\/span><\/em><\/p>

    Ascending on a Lift Bag<\/span>
    \u2013 Safe deployment, stable ascents, and maintaining buoyancy control during decompression.<\/span><\/em><\/p>

    Semi-Closed Rebreather Mode<\/span>
    \u2013 Using SCR mode as a backup procedure and understanding its limitations.<\/span><\/em><\/p>

    Rebreather Rescue Skills<\/span>
    \u2013 Assisting a distressed CCR diver, managing failed units, and conducting safe recoveries.<\/span><\/em><\/p>

    Trimix Dives With Multiple Stages and Emergency Scenarios<\/span>
    \u2013 Conducting complex dives, applying all learned skills, and reacting to realistic failures.<\/span><\/em><\/p>
